Portfolio and P&L
One rule for P&L everywhere — what CLOSE pays now less the open cost of what you hold — across the wallet, the Trading Balance and Boost.
The P&L rule
A position's P&L is what CLOSE pays now less the open cost of what you hold.
- What CLOSE pays is the walk down the book's bids for your whole holding. Once the Window has its answer it is the known payout — "Settled · paying", or "Settled · lost" for nothing; while the Window is locked, or nothing bids, the row is valued at its open cost and says why: "Locked · settles", "No bids". A row whose cost is still indexing reads "Updating", with no P&L.
- A thin book — bids for only part of the holding — reads "N% sellable": P&L on that part, against its share of the open cost, and the rest at cost. CLOSE sells what fills and the rest keeps its cost.
- Open cost is per side. A buy adds what it paid; a sale or a merge takes its share out at the average cost; a mint costs half a dollar a side. So Reduce then re-enter doesn't inflate your cost.
- Trading Balance bets use the vault's own tally when it is exact, else its booked fills replayed at average cost.
- A Boost's cost is your stake less what it has paid back; it pays (held − fronted) ÷ stake.
- Totals — the P&L figure, the P&L card's return — run over priced rows only, and say how many are unpriced. Equity counts every row at what it counts for, and keeps an answered Window at its payout until it is paid: the wallet's until it is paid out, the Trading Balance's until the settler credits it.
- Close all sells only the rows a book can take; locked, settling, settled and no-bid rows wait.
- TP / SL judge the whole holding at that same walk, in the tab and in the exit keeper, so a thin book isn't read as a drawdown.
On 12 October the rule was checked against the chain on Moderato, to the base unit: a wallet that bought, Reduced and re-entered; a Trading Balance that tapped twice, closed part and re-entered; and a thin book, where a wallet holding and a 2× Boost could sell only part, the Boost closed part then the rest, and the wallet closed what filled. On 13 October two hedged wallets went through the lock, the answer and the payout, and equity held the payout throughout (evidence). Live on testnet since round 4's web release.
Portfolio
Portfolio reads your money and your bets from the chain. Signed out, it shows DEMO's paper balance and a way in.
- Your balance: one figure — dollars in your account and Trading Balance, open positions at what Close pays, and what waits to be collected — with what you can bet now, Add money and Trade. Collect shows when something waits. Cash behind resting orders is named under it, never added.
- Pockets: the Trading Balance, Private and Earn, each with its amount. Manage opens its sheet to add or withdraw; Earn opens Earn.
- Your bets — Open: one row per held side, wallet and Trading Balance together, Boosts on their own cards; staked, worth now, P&L. Close sells; a locked Window pays at settlement.
- Your bets — History: one account history — the wallet's rounds, the Trading Balance's and Boost's — as Won, Lost, Void or Closed early, each with its Receipt and Share.
- Your record: net over everything settled, win rate, current run, and its curve.
After any write — a close, a collect, a deposit — a toast names the move and its Receipt opens what the chain recorded. The eye beside your balance hides your own figures everywhere, on this device.
